Joseph Campbell an Introduction
Published in Paperback by Plume (May, 1997)
Average review score:

Segal points out some significant disparityThe author has written an excellent overview. While he recognizes the romantic appeal of Campbell's work, he remains solicitous with his breakdown of the recurring themes, such as the collapse of Eastern into Western culture and the supposed Matriarchal culture and philosopy that underlies all "higher" forms of religion. This is not to say that he disproves Campbell's ideas as a mystic per se, since such ideas are subjective.

Joseph Campbell Collection: Western Quest
Published in Audio Cassette by Penguin USA (Paper) (August, 1999)
Average review score:

WonderfulListening to these tapes has rekindled my passion for writing and storytelling. In these tapes Joseph Campbell tells the detailed story of King Arthur and the Holy Grail. He includes fascinating details and versions of the stories that I never knew existed. He also shows how the history of England impacted the different versions of the King Arthur legend. For me, the stories and information on these tapes is more delicious than ice cream and cake.

This is my soul companion, the best gift I've ever receivedJourney Into Motherhood is my soul companion, spiritual midwife, and dream catcher. Each time I open its pages, I am stimulated, comforted, and gently nudged into focusing upon the miracle of generation and birth, to laugh at and feel fellowship about my fears, large and small, and most importantly, to re-enter into the pure power and majesty of motherhood. Leslie Kirk Campbell challenges and heartens us, sharing an oracle of wisdom both ancient and contemporary, heartrending and inspiring, practical and poetic: her own unique, wholly embraceable, extremely empowering vision of motherhood. Her book accompanies me to every baby shower...it is one of the most useful gifts I have ever received, and I am definitely passing it on. Thank you, Leslie Kirk Campbell, for giving so generously of your special brand of lucid, humorous honesty and of your very sage, very fine, very full mother's spirit!

A Word About "Journey Through Time""Journey Through Time: A Pictoral History of the Prince George's County Police Department" provides readers with numerous black-and-white photographs of the P.G. County police, a person will probably not find a greater source inasmuch as pictures are concerned. This book does an extremely thorough job of explaining the rich history of the police department, it tells through words and pictures the changes that have taken place as Prince George's County grew from a sleepy rural community to a heavily populated metropolitan suburb. In addition, every fallen officer received a one page synopsis explaining their careers and situations surrounding their deaths. This book is a must for people interested in the history of Prince George's County, it should be required reading for all recruits.

The Junkyard Dog
Published in Paperback by New American Library (April, 1991)
Average review score:

The Start Of Something Wonderful! This was the second book of R.C. that I read. I first read The Cats Meow. I loved it so much that I found The Junkyard Dog...being it was the first of the Flannery mysteries. After I saw the titles of his books, I had to read each and every one. I wish R.C. would continue with the Flannery mysteries, I really enjoy them, even a second time. The other mysteries he writes are good also, but I am hooked on the Flannerys
